Museum Mission: the smallest castle in entire Sweden
Skånelaholms slott is also the least known castle in the Stockholm area - which is also brought up by the ads about this castle. Not is it easy to find - and I definetely recommend you to go here by car if you intend to match your visit with a guided tour (that is, get to see the inside of the caste and the temporary exhibition next to it). A cozy place anyhow, with history connections that are still to be explored as at least one generation of the owners sold all the valuable paintings and other items that belonged to the place and the next generation of owners brought and purchased other. One painting hangs at Nationalmuseum, that is known for sure!
(And, the biggest castle in Sweden is Skokloster slott.)
